The BLACK212 is a stereo, cardioid directional microphone that has dual small diaphragm electret condenser capsules positioned in an X/Y formation to deliver an accurate stereo image. While the microphone body terminates to a 3-pin XLR connector, the included specialized Y-cable (which must be connected directly to the microphone) splits the stereo signal down to two mono. It has come to be loved for both room and ambiance, as well as close micing applications.
-Handmade from an actual discharged 12Ga shell.
-Requires phantom power.
-Clips are not supplied with your purchase. Most 20mm pencil-condenser clips fit as well as the "Universal" spring-loaded style.
-Due to their unbalanced nature, use with electronically-balanced preamps is recommended.
